The Description

Second-language acquisition has been shown to increase standardized test scores, improve long-term cognitive ability, and increase empathy. Technology can open the doors to cultural awareness for language learners; therefore, the World Language Department of Lowcountry Preparatory School seeks nearly $4,000 (thanks to Best Buy) for a one-time acquisition of shareable tablet cart to allow our students to take full advantage of language learning tools and appreciate authentic resources in the target language.

A few things we can do with tablets to support our language learning:

Listen to awesome music in the target language!

Watch informative videos.

Access and emulate authentic language on social media.

Collaborate with classmates and share resources.

Play fun language learning games!

...and so much more!

Break down of total cost: The proposed plan outlined below prices 20 Insignia tablets for classroom use, along with the necessary additional components. The purchase of 20 total tablets would accommodate the largest language class size currently present at Lowcountry while also budgeting for spares and growth in student population. Apple products are preferable for their reliability, intuitive interface, and quality of applications for education. Prices below are approximate.
