With these funds I will be able to purchase flexible seating for my third grade classroom. For years our desks have been getting in the way of the way that we learn in our classroom. We work in teams and collaborate often. I arrange the desks in groups but they still restricted our ability to work together. This problem became even more relevant when our district adopted 1:1 iPads last year. The projects that my students are doing in the classroom with our iPads require collaboration and movement that our desks just do not allow for us to do. With these funds my students will get to rid ourselves of many of the desks and replace them with disk chairs, butterfly chairs, bean bags, and other alternative seating. Please refer to the pictures below for the specific items I will be purchasing. We will be able to arrange and rearrange these options to allow for us to have the collaborative environment we need to be successful.
