I would love to have access to their website, which costs $100 per teacher per year. My goal is to raise the $100 I would need to pay for this yearly website subscription for the 2017-2018 school year. I feel that having access to the website along with the material I already have will help my students be even better writers.

I am the 2nd-4th grade literacy specialist at Rock Prairie Elementary in College Station Texas. I have been in education for 10 years with 9 of those spent in the classroom. I have taught in 3 different districts and in various grade levels. I am extremely passionate about literacy providing students with the resources they need to become successful readers and writers. So many of our students are lacking the basic fundamental skills when it comes to grammar and writing and have a difficult time transferring the skills they learn in isolation to a piece of writing. I enjoy working with teachers and helping provide them with the support they need to make the instruction in their classroom engaging and fun as well give them tools to measure the progress of their students. Working with children has always been my passion and in my current position I am blessed to work with ones who are struggling and need additional intervention as well as be there for the teachers!

My name is Maria Rivas, the oldest of 4 from Mexican American parents. I grew up in the area where I currently teach at . I attended Southmayd Elementary and Deady Middle School. However, I graduated from High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice. I am so excited to continue to be a part of the Sanchez team this school year. I always look forward to setting academic and personal goals for my scholars. I currently teach Reading and Language Arts. I graduated from the University of Houston Clearlake in May of 2000 with a Biology degree. This year is my 18th year in education. My teaching experience includes teaching 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade. I am passionate about what I do and encourage my students to become independent thinkers and problem solvers as they blossom each day. I provide students a safe, yet challenging environment in order to push every child to achieve his or her maximum potential. I have two children, Joseph is in third grade and Aaliyah is in ninth grade. Being a mom, I know that my scholars are precious gift and I will treat my students as if they were my own.
