With these funds, I will be able to purchase 3 Ozobot Evo Entry Kits for our students with special needs.

The students at our school display significant interfering behavior due to emotional dysregulation and/or additional mental health concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, OCD, and ODD. We work with our students to decrease behaviors that interfere with their ability to access their academic and social environments. We teach replacement behaviors that allow students to successfully overcome barriers and more appropriately access the world both inside and outside of the learning environment.

Adding the Ozobot to our programming will allow for our students to practice communication and problem solving skills in a fun, authentic way, in real time. They will learn that making mistakes leads to learning and to persevere through the challenges they encounter. Ozobot is able to be programmed in two different ways, with markers and by writing code with a computer. This allows them to be accessible to students with a wide range of abilities. 

The use of robotics with our students with special needs will help them to be critical thinking collaborators who can approach problems in a variety of ways.
