The Description

With these funds we will buy a raspberry pi for students along with SD cards, cases and LCD screen controllers.  The first part of the activity is to make LCD screens for our raspberry pi by taking LCD screens from old laptops.  We need LCD screen controllers to connect them to the raspberry pi.  We have removed the LCD screens and found the monitor control boards. We have learned so much already and can't wait to assemble our monitors for our Raspberry Pis!  This cost for the control boards for the monitor assembly is about $30 per student.  14 * $28 = $420

Once we have our monitor put together we will use it with our Raspberry Pi.  Here's a link:

14 * $42 = $588

The students will learn about computer architecture, processors, input/output, hardware, software and many other concepts.  After our raspberry pi is complete, we will apply our computer programming skills to other raspberry pi!  We have been coding in Python, Scratch and App Inventor.  We are very excited to apply our coding skills on a Raspberry Pi.

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase as many set ups for the raspberry pi as possible and the students will need to work in groups.
