Practice Makes Perfect! Math Workbooks are Needed!

The Description

With these funds our students will be able to grow and develop their math skills and content knowledge by having access to nightly leveled practice that they can work on with their families. This practice allows students the opportunity to individually practice their skills, while providing teachers with specific information of areas of student strengths and needs. We are a Title I school, and our parents have been asking for ways that they can support our students at home. Due to a delayed budget from our legislature, we are 7 weeks into the school year with limited resources to provide for families to work together on these specific skills. We have been copying these assignments, but for $7 each student could have their own text to work in and grow from. We have 100 students, and we have some of these resources left over from previous years, but not enough for all our students. Any and all support you can provide so that we can support our students and their families would be greatly appreciated!

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase as many of these workbooks as we can and share them with our neediest students, so that they can practice with their families at home. Even one workbook means one more student will have the opportunity for the practice and support that they need.

Change in Goal

October 16, 2015

Hello all!

We recently changed our goal from $490 to $360. This was due to two factors: 1) We were able to find a distributor that would provide the workbooks for a discounted price, saving us additional funds. 2) We found 10 additional workbooks that we are able to give to students, so that also results in less funds needed.

You all have been so extraordinary in donating and supporting our cause! We cannot thank you enough, and we are SO CLOSE to achieving our goal! Thank you for all your support!

About the Creator

I have been teaching 5th grade for 11 years, 3 in NJ and 8 in NC. 5th graders are at that amazing age where they are learning to become the best version of themselves as both students and individuals, and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to grow with them each and every year. I have degrees in elementary education, special education, and gifted education, as well as a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, all of which I apply to my classroom so that my students can benefit.
