I was recently invited to present at the Digitical Citizenship Summit hosted by Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom. My goal for attending the DigCitSummitUK  is to continue the mission of the digcitsummit. I will continue to facilitate real, open, and honest conversations between parents, students, tech companies, educators and the business world regarding the challenges of raising children and teens in today's interconnected and networked world. I want to go beyond talking about what we should avoid online and focus on what we should encourage. With your help, I plan on making a difference in moving real solutions forward that will influence all students on a global scale. I am honored to be invited to bring student voice to the inaugural international summit.

As one of the original digcitsummit speakers, the money raised will help me travel from Boston to London, as well as attend two technology events. The DigCitSummitUK was planned around the timing of the BETT Show, so the delegates could attend both conferences. 

At the DigCitSummitUK, I will present on students leveraging digital tools to find internships, create digital portfolios, and develop a digital presence they want colleges and recruiters to see. My connection and passion as a connected student  to digital citizenship is evident in my commitment to integrating technology  into the curriculum, working as an advocate  for student voice  and personalized learning , andtalking with leading representives  such as the Alliance for Excellent Education to reshape the classroom.

In order to give back what I learn from this experience, I will go back to my school and community and will continue to engage others on the importance of digital citizenship and student voice in education. I look forward to teaching and learning an incredible amount at the #DigCitSummitUK event!
