Repair Our Piano

The Description

With these funds I will...

Have a piano technician overhaul, as much as possible, our 48 year old Yamaha grand piano.  We cannot use it as it is because notes continue to ring after releasing the keys causing the pitch confusion to the listener.  It has many other issues such as sticking keys, pedals which don't function and broken parts.  The cost to replace this instrument with a brand new one like it would be around $70,000.  This one can be made to function close to new and be useful to our students once again with this overhaul.  Our chorus students benefit from use of this piano as it accompanies us and helps us prepare for the many performances we do over the course of the school year.

Thank you for assisting us.

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase...

We will have the piano technician repair the piano as much as the funding will allow.  The technician will prioritize what is most necessary.

About the Creator

I am the choral director of Lake Worth Community High School. I am in my 24th year of service to our students. We have accomplished a great deal with our students. Although it took a long time, we finally were able to take some of our students to NYC last year to perform in Carnegie Hall with the National Festival Chorus.
