The Description

Traditional whiteboards have been part of classrooms for decades. In my classroom there is emphasize hand-on learning and collaboration. This year I want to implement the mcSquares Whiteboard System to ensure that my students are able to express their creativity while also building a collaborative environment that allows every student to take part of the learning.

mcSquares are individual whiteboards that snap together using mounting brackets that will allow every one of my students to join in on the learning process, answer questions, or draw diagrams. When completed, every student can use the magnets on the back of the individual mcSquare to display their answer along with their peers’.

No longer is the whiteboard just a place for me to stand and teach, but a place where my students can learn from each other. If this sounds like a learning environment you would’ve liked to been in, please consider a small investment for my classroom.

Here is the breakdown of our goal of $649.48 for mcSquares

Back Up Plan

If we do not reach our goal I will be having a student lead voting on how we should spend the money with given guidelines. May of the materials in our school are old, outdated, or broken. Students will be able to use their knowledge of government and voting to determine how we will use the money, new classroom supplies, access to new technology websites to practice math instruction, payment for materials for classroom transformations, or flexible seating options. From those options students will vote and the highest option will be purchased with the money donated from this grant.

About the Creator

"Do it with love." That is my motto and philosophy within my classroom. I work in a Title 1 school in Tampa, Florida. I have worked in first grade and am currently a third grade math and science teacher. I believe in doing everything with love, especially when it comes to my students, having them know I love them makes all the difference in my instruction and their achievement. They are odd defying and they deserve to have the best education possible. I believe in showing them a world they may not ever get a chance to see themselves. Whether it be pretending we are doctors in math instruction, traveling back in time in social studies, or becoming chefs in science using solar energy, my students get the real world application in their instruction. I believe in making our classroom a home and I would like to give them that opportunity by infusing more originality in my room for them every year.
