Creating Wildcat Artists to Create a Better Mississippi

With these funds I will...

Begin an art program for a rural county in the Delta of Mississippi. Every child that walks into my school will have art class and get to experience art class for potentially the first time in their life.

I will be providing a creative outlet and another way for students to express themselves. I will give students a coping mechanism for when they need it and a place to escape to. Each child will get to experience new materials and get to find out more about themselves. The entire school will benefit from any funds raised because it will go to buying the supplies to have an art class across the whole school.

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase crayons, markers, paper, glue, and scissors. This will get the art program started but just barely. As well I will be purchasing a cart as I do not have a classroom. I am excited to create this art program and that means I may have to ask for supplies and beg for any supplies I can get.

About the Creator

In the fall I will start the art program for a rural community in Mississippi. The want and community support for the art program is filled with excitement, but to get things started there will be costs to get set up. I believe every child deserves to explore their creativity and deserves to express themselves that is why I will do whatever it takes to make sure every child in my school gets to experience relevant, culturally responsive art.
