The Description

With these funds I will purchase materials to support and improve the student learning experience with our classroom iPads.  Three years ago our school district purchased five iPads and protective keyboarding cases for each classroom.  Several of the keyboarding cases are torn and missing several keys located on the keyboard.  Successful funding of this project will give my students additional and appropriate experiences related to learning that embrace technology.

GripCase offers light weight, durable, affordable, and child friendly technology products.  I plan on purchasing a $39.99 Gripcase to replace one of the dilapidated district provided iPad cases.  https://gripcase.com/index.php/ipad-cases.html  However, these gripcases do not come with a stand.  My fifth graders often complete projects throughout the school year. The convenient $19.99 GripBase stand will make it easier for my students to prop the iPad up, select and read relevant research via the iPad, and free up desk space so students can easily take notes.   https://gripcase.com/index.php/ipad-stands/gripbase-01-black.html

This school year I purchased a membership to SpellingCity.  This site lets an educator enter word lists.  Then students may participate in numerous learning games, practice tests, etc. all related to the chosen list.  My students enjoy SpellingCity and frequently practice assigned spelling and vocabulary, important events and people related to their assigned literature book.  I would like to purchase a new pair of headphones my students can wear while engaging in SpellingCity.  This pair of Koss headphones cost $16.12.  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00007056H/ref=s9_simh_gw_g23_i1_r?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=1WJR4G2D0G68R85ZWRKE&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2079475242&pf_rd_i=desktop

Furthermore, I'd welcome the opportunity to acquire a Belkin keyboard/stand that has the ability to connect to the iPad Air with the Gripcase left on.  My students need ample opportunities to practice correct home row placement, familiarity, speed, and accuracy related to keyboarding.  My students will easily be able to utilize this $39.99 Belkin keyboarding case while they are working within the SpellingCity site.  http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Certified-Lightning-Connector-Classroom/dp/B00M4L70E2/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1453153683&sr=1-1&keywords=belkin+wired+tablet+keyboard+stand

Last but not least, I plan on purchasing a $50 iTunes card from Wal-Mart.  I will be able to purchase and sync curriculum related apps onto the classroom iPads.  Some of the apps I intend on purchasing include; Math Ninja, Green Screen, National Geographic Weird But True, Epic!, Mad Libs, etc.  http://www.walmart.com/ip/50-iTunes-Code-email-delivery/17753320

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase as many of these technology products as possible.  I will also post this project onto my Facebook feed, send home a parent letter explaining this project, and send a Remind notice about this project to my student families.
