Support a New Kind of Learning: Breakout EDU | A Platform for Immersive Learning Games
Verified Non-Profit
$230
$333 goal
The Description
With these funds, we will purchase 3 Breakout EDU kits (described in video above) for Onsted High School which include all items and software/apps necessary to run classroom or adult sessions of learning. All Breakout EDU games teach critical thinking, teamwork, complex problem solving, and can be used in all content area classrooms and teacher professional development sessions. All of these skills are necessary to prepare our student for a life well lived beyond high school.
What is Breakout EDU?
Why would this these kits be great for our school?
Breakout EDU creates ultra-engaging learning games for people of all ages. Games (Breakouts) teach teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting by presenting participants with challenges that ignite their natural drive to problem-solve.
Breakouts are perfect for classrooms, staff trainings, or for clubs! At the end of a Breakout, the players will be eager for the next! Speciality K-12 Breakouts can be used to teach core academic subjects including math, science, history, language arts and have embedded standards that apply problem solving strategies within a real world OR collaborative context.
Back Up Plan
If we do not meet my goal we will use the funds to purchase as many kits as possible (1 or 2) as well as seek out other avenues to replicate similar kits through buying resources like lumber, locks, invisible in pens, flash drives etc. If possible we may also seek additional funds through other sources to round out the amount we need.
