With these funds I will...buy a variety of flexible seating options for the students at my school.  We have a vision of creating a classroom on each grade level with 100% flexible seating, then moving toward more options across all classrooms on our campus.  Flexible seating allows students to learn in a comfortable setting and in the position that works best for them.  We plan to buy a variety of standing desks, which will accommodate some of our students with Attention Hyper-Activity Disorder.  By standing up, they will be able to focus while also releasing some energy.  We will also buy some bike pedals to allow students to quietly pedal while engaging in their instruction.  In a flexible seating classroom, students will be able to stand at desks, sit on ball chairs, lounge on the floor, or even choose a traditional chair.  Flexible seating is about allowing students to work and learn in a way that best suits them.  

The students at my school are absolutely incredible.  The majority come from low income house holds.  School is a place of stability for them and many love coming to see their school family each day.  We want our classrooms to be warm and welcoming.  Our classrooms need to feel like home to our students, and flexible seating is a way we can do this.
