The Description

This summer I am working on my Masters in Montessori Integrative Education in addition to re-training at the Houston Montessori Center. I am learning so much and have become more and more aware of how many materials I really need to be able to have available for my students to use so they can receive a proper Montessori education.

The classroom that I took over last year was picked over when the teacher recovered so there are a lot of missing materials. Last year I did my best to recreate as much as I could, but this year I would like to focus on lesson planning, teaching, and to start the year out with everything I need. My school has purchased missing materials, primarily in Language and we are so grateful and humbled by their support. However, I still need specific items to appropriately house and store the materials to be easily accessed by the students.

Montessori schools are typically private which is why it's so special to be working with a public Montessori school that could greatly benefit from your support. The materials are expensive, but they will last for years and have no need to be replaced or updated by newer textbooks. The Montessori materials have so many uses and the student will stay connected to all levels of learning, relating the expansive and new uses of the materials.

Back Up Plan

I have already started spending a lot of money this summer on the classroom, but I am afraid that I cannot keep this up while working on my degree and training outside of New Orleans. If we cannot raise the money I will brainstorm and create and find a way to give my students the best education that they deserve.
