Reconnecting with the Natural World

The Description

With these funds I will be able to send 20 teenagers on a trip to the Shenandoah Valley. There they will bike, hike, even possibly kayak through the beautiful landscape of the Shenandoah Valley. Springhouse Community School takes three trips a year and they often involve students getting more connected to the natural world. In a time where disconnection through social media and lack of outdoor time in schools is prevalent, these kind of trips are essential in keeping young people healthy and connected to the world around them. Here is a news clip from our last trip:

Back Up Plan

In the past the generosity of our parents and community has allowed us to take these trips. I am assuming that this will continue to be the case. We also have applied and received grant funding for trips such as this one.
