Even from childhood, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I taught in regular education classrooms for ten years before I went back to get my master’s in special education.I then taught resource for three years and continued to learn a wealth of knowledge from my own students. Returning again to school, I earned my reading specialist and preschool certifications. At this juncture, I made the transition to functional skills, where I remain today. My personal, professional, and classroom experience have thoroughly prepared me to stand in the gap for children who are amazing and in great need of an advocate. I believe in their ability to learn and succeed, and I am adamant about providing the best educational environment possible for my children.
