With these funds I will...buy headphones to ensure students are able to listen to reading and be involved in our Daily 5 activities. I will also buy books and cozy materials to make the library area inviting and intriguing. Also, I will buy flannel board pieces to reenact stories and a mobile cart to include our books in. My students deserve this equipment because they have not had the opportunity to be successful. My room is well set up and inviting; however, the library area should be one of the most inviting places in the room. So, we definitely need some funds to improve this area. Given the materials, I can provide the instruction and engagement to instill the desire to read and learning all of my students. The library area will feel welcoming and safe with vivid colors! If funded, I will buy a new carpet, throw cushions, mobile cart, headphones, flannel board pieces, and animals to read to! Flannel board stories average $13-$15 per story, carpet around $100, soft seating $250-$340, headphones $30 each, books averaging $7-$12 per book, and a mobile cart which would range from $30-$50.
