Building a Foundation in Mathematics

The Description

For the 2019-2020 academic year, I will be teaching mathematics to 60 6th grade students at the Belair-Edison School in the Belair-Edison neighborhood of Baltimore city. The Belair-Edison School is a Title 1 school, meaning more than half the student body qualifies for free and reduced lunch, the measure for being a high need school. This year, I hope to give my students the proper tools to succeed in the form of school supplies and a well-rounded education. These funds will allow my students to focus on their learning rather than on the barriers stopping them from living up to their fullest potential due to a lack of funds to purchase the proper school supplies.

Back Up Plan

If we do not reach our goal I will purchase the most fundamental products for my class room such as pencils, paper, notebooks as well as materials for individual products to engage with mathematics on a more tangible level.
