Chester A. Arthur Elementary School is located South West Center City, Philadelphia.  Arthur has a culturally, racially and economically diverse student body and surrounding community. New programs and partnerships have made Arthur a community that students want to be a part of, and a place where parents want to send their children. Arthur has an incredibly dedicated staff who work hard to make sure all students thrive.

After not having an art program for many years, Arthur is excited to be offering art instruction to our students two days a week. We welcome our new art instructor, Ms. Leila Lindo! Ms. Lindo plans to implement exciting projects with students such as muraling, print making and sculpture; however, she has extremely limited supplies and budget.  She is basically starting this program from scratch!

Ms. Lindo plans to introduce the students to new media such as tempera paint, modge podge, oil pastels, construction paper crayons, water color paints, and various types of clay. For most of our students, working with these materials will be a completely new experience.  

In addition, we need tools such as a paper cutter, drying racks, electric pencil sharpener, student work storage, large pieces of white paper and construction paper, canvas, print making supplies, and large brown paper.

Ms. Lindo envisions a robust art program for our students, but in order to see these projects come to life, we need your generous support. Help us build up our art program and watch our students' creativity, and the Arthur community, soar!
