DASH About the Library

The Description

With these funds I will...purchase iPads to run the DASH's that were donated to us. Last summer we had 10 DASH robots donated to our mini-makerspace called the Design Space.  However, I only had two iPads with which to run them. Since then, I have purchased two more with Scholastic Book Fair proceeds. We now need six more iPads to run the DASH's so students can also use them in class, as well as the Design Space.

STEM Launch is a K-8. We have a diverse population because we are a choice school, and also a neighborhood school. The Design Space is located in the library and is open to all students. The Design Space is a place where students can participate in authentic experiences by questioning, problem solving, and using persistence to arrive at solutions to activities designed to engage and promote critical thinking. The DASH robots encourage these types of thought structures. In addition, the iPads can be used on our  Sphero Sparks and our stop motion video application. Please help us make our goal!

Back Up Plan

If we do not reach our goal I will purchase...the iPads with funds raised from Scholastic Book Fairs.  Given the past proceeds from other Scholastic Book Fairs, I can probably buy one or two at a time. I have two book fairs a year.

Fundraiser Updates (1)

One DASH enabled!

March 6, 2019

Thanks to our Investor Corinne E Sain and Scholastic Book Fair profits, we have been able to order an iPad to run one of our DASH's! We will continue to brainstorm how to raise funds to enable the other nine robots.
