2nd Grade Byhalia Bees

The Description

With these funds I will provide my students with various reading books to increase their stamina and school supplies so they can focus on their learning. Each small donation really counts given the fact that even a $1 donation can purchase a pack of pencils at the dollar store. Since Byhalia is such a small town in Mississippi, your donation would really help to secure students necessary materials they might not otherwise have access to like rich quality texts for reading and perhaps even technology to read with like an iPad or tablet. Your humility in reviewing this cause and supporting it is inspiring to me and I hope this cause inspires you to support! Thank you for stopping by! Have a great one!

Above is a video of me describing the need and how you can help support my classroom in the fall!

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will still try to purchase reading books for my students as this is always an important, yet highly needed material that many teachers often lack in their classrooms. Teachers are extremely selfless, using their own money to purchase necessities for their classroom. After a few months of this, it becomes a financial burden and the students must go without. Your donation could relieve that financial burden from myself, allowing me to focus on my classroom library instead of on my wallet. Furthermore, if I do not reach my goal, then I will use my own money to MAKE SURE that students have books that they can read at school!

About the Creator

I am excited to be a part of the TFA family and join the movement to solve education inequity in this country and provide all students with a quality education. I'm fortunate enough to be selected from a nationwide talent applicant pool to join a teacher corps comprised of leaders who commit a minimum of two years to teach in high need public schools. This summer I will be participating in an intensive skill and knowledge development program aiming to increase student achievement as well as a comprehensive professional development program including seminars, discussion groups, workshops, and content and professional learning communities specific to teaching license areas. I can't wait for my first year with Teach for America.
