With these funds I will receive a laptop to replace the one that went with our donated projector.
Our fine arts magnet school is located in a vibrant and diverse community. Although we are in a high poverty district, our school has been able to retain our fine arts magnet status. However, it has been a challenge to find the funding for technology and history materials.
The students who attend our school are on 100% free and reduced lunch. We have a highly diverse immigrant population. As a choice school, students from many different backgrounds and countries attend our fine arts program. My students are eager to learn and love when we do something different - which this program certainly is!
Our classroom was very fortunate to receive a projector last year. However, our laptop that went with it perished. This project would provide a laptop so that I can show the wealth of materials and videos on the internet about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I have already researched and bookmarked various sites and videos about the Constitution and our countries' history -I'm anxious to start these lessons with my students! The books included in this project will further compliment our lessons and make these important lessons real.
The lessons will help them to understand their liberties, rights, and responsibilities as citizens. They are not too young to learn about how the Bill of Rights has and will shape their lives. Thank you for any assistance in helping this project so that my students can begin the journey of becoming productive citizens as they go through life.

If I do not meet my goal I will apply what is raised to our DonorsChoose project and then continue to raise the necessary funds to complete this much needed technology project.
