The Description

With these funds I will gain professional development which will enable me to teach teacher teams how to make the most meaningful impact in their classrooms using Google Suite for Education, web-based tools that allow data gathering, film, surveying, formative assessments, researching, collaborating, reflecting, and creating using multiple modalities.

Our students come to us in great need, many enter high school reading several grade levels behind their national counterparts. Within our walls, we grow our students academically. However, in our efforts to get them "college ready," we have not integrated 21st century skill building into our curriculum school-wide.  Beyond our walls, our students will be expected to have mastered core skills and understandings and be proficient in technology applications.

This training will allow me to serve as a human resource for "teams of teachers" in professional learning communities focused on technology integration. In February of 2017, I attended the local Illinois Computing Educators conference, and it was through idea sharing, discussions with presenters and other educators, that I learned how much value and how much of an impact I can potentially make through the knowledge I will obtain from attending this conference.

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal, funds will be used for local Google Certification training.
