In two weeks, I will begin my second year as a first grade teacher in Yazoo City, MS.  I have learned so much throughout my first year experience. One of the things I have really learned to value and appreciate is the strength in community. 

One huge hurdle that students in the Mississippi Delta and other high need regions around the US face is a lack of the necessary materials that they need daily. It is extremely difficult for students to take part in activities and classwork when they do not have basic supplies. 

My goal is to make sure all of my students feel cared for, loved, safe, and supported in my classroom. I will use any funds that I raise to purchase the necessary supplies to ensure my students have a classroom that is stocked full of materials and supplies. So this is how you can become a part of our community of helpers and support (near and far).
