After completing Teach for America’s - 2019 Houston Institute I will be responsible for my very own classroom in the West side of San Antonio, teaching fifth grade bilingual education! I can't wait to decorate and meet my students and their families. One of the biggest hurdles that students in high need schools face is a lack of the necessary materials that are needed on a daily basis. It makes it much more difficult for students to take part in activities and classwork when they do not have basic supplies.

With these funds I will be able to obtain the materials necessary to start building a safe and nourishing environment for my students. This includes office supplies such as pencil sharpeners, staplers, staples, hole punchers, pencils, markers, crayons etc. It also includes materials to make the class more welcoming and accessible with supplies such as anchor charts (for the visual learners), manipulatives (for the kinesthetic learners) and posters to show off the kids the birthdays and interests.
