We are raising funds to purchase equipment for our audio/video club.  I work with an inspiring group of innovative, curious students, who love challenging and engaging projects that allow them to problem solve, write, use their creativity and think outside the box.  

They come to my class daily, ready to try something new and enhance their skills to produce a faith based broadcast about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They take chances in trying out new ways to capture an audience’s attention or share mini lessons for younger students. They love to share the knowledge they’ve learned with the students who watch the videos.  They are a very inspiring young group.  It is my great pleasure to work with such an enthusiastic group of students who want to learn and improve themselves, not only socially but academically. 

Using the audio visual equipment to create a broadcast can create a great way to supplement formal education. Using audio visual equipment  can help students to be stimulated from all points of view and to be convinced to interact as much as possible with their peers and leaders, because interaction and collaboration is essential to students' success in English (Brasoveanu, 2012). 

Prensky (2001) expressed “Our students have changed radically. Today’s students are no longer the people our educational system was designed to teach”.  Digital technology has shaped the way our students learn and the way they are taught.  Today students (Digital Natives) learn more easily with the aid of digital technology. Classroom instruction should stimulate and motivate a student's reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Creating a  broadcast using audio visual equipment does just that!
