The Description

With these funds I will buy classroom materials to enrich the learning of the students in my classroom by creating learning stations. This money will directly impact my students because I'll have the resources to create learning experiences that are memorable while also rigorous. I work in Houston's Historic Third Ward. Although this is a community rich in culture and history, most surrounding schools in this area have low levels of achievement. My students are hardworking and came to my school because they want a better future.  I hope to get basic classroom supplies like a paper cutter (about $130) for making learning stations and a class set of whiteboards (about $100) with markers for interactive practice so that the learning is engaging and fun while also challenging and competitive.

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase...whichever of the items I have enough for (paper cutter or whiteboards).  If that's not possible then I will try for some updated books for my very outdated classroom library

Fundraiser Updates (1)

English Language Arts Classroom Supplies

October 3, 2015

Unfortunately we did not meet our goal of $250 but, with the funds received, I am working with our school business manager to see if the school will match what I've raised so that we are still able to get at least a portion of the supplies.  If this is not possible, the money will be used to purchase the graphic novel MAUS to be used during our upcoming Holocaust unit.

Thank you so much to my supporters! Together we will prove the possible!
