The Description

With these funds I will...be able to get 10 reflection tops for competitions.

 My school has started a dance team. My team has 6 boys and 10 girls. They work hard all day to get their grades and then stay after for 2 hours for dance. They are a great group of kids working hard to make something of themselves in the classroom and on the dance floor.

I teach at a high poverty school and many kids had nothing to do after school therefore they were getting in trouble. We started a dance team last year and already we have seen a difference in their confidence and school work. They have done so well that they have been given a dance showcase in April . We have had great success in getting costumes for their showcase but we are now ready to compete next year. 

Next year my students are hoping they will be able to compete but in order to do that they need a uniform. They have a dance jacket but need a uniform they can dance in. With these new tops they can continue to do their hip-hop along with new routines.

Your donation will do a long way to help make these student feel like part of a team and be confident in their dancing and how they look and feel. Not only will they be used this year but all the years after

We just ordered our new uniforms for next year. The girls are so excited they cant stand it. I will post pics as soon as we get them:)

About the Creator

My name is Mrs. Devivo and I teach Reading and dance at a high poverty school. My students are grades 9-12 trying to graduate and make a difference in the world they live in. My dance team is in its 1st year and already we are ready to compete. My day job is teaching Reading. Most of my students are reading below grade level. My job is to get them ready for the state test so that they can graduate high school.
