With these funds I will purchase flexible seating options for our classroom.  Our fifth graders are interested in seeking ways to make the classroom more comfortable.  We have read many studies and blog posts regarding classroom designs that better meet the needs of a wider variety of learners.  Students were particularly shocked by the comparison of the traditional classroom set up of rows of desks and blue plastic chairs to cemetary grounds!  We want learning to stick!  Therefore we propose to use the funds raised to purchase a variety of the following seating options:

1.  beanbags

2.  stability balls

3.  adjustable laptop stands

4.  stools (3-legged stools as well as HOKKI stools)

5.  gaming chairs

Students in our room are serious about learning.  They have researched the different types of seating and learned that seating preferences are as varied as the weather in Virginia Beach on any given spring day!  The funds raised for this project will allow me to personalize the learning environment for these dedicated learners!
