The Description

With these funds I will be able to build a classroom library for my scholars that has both leveled reading and read aloud books.

Reading is fundamental! Books will enable me to surround my scholars with literature, prepare them for second grade and beyond, nurture/grow their love of reading and learning, and teach them the skills they need to perform to manage themselves well in and outside of the classroom.

These books that my scholars desperately need, will enable them to become avid readers, leaders, and students.  Reading will expand their vocabulary,  their ability to understand and discuss various topics, feelings, and social needs. Books help my scholars to learn new words and new ways of using the words that they already know.  Scholars quickly learn to visualize scenarios discussed in stories by reading the text alone. Reading books regularly stimulates imagination, accelerates emotional development and fosters natural curiosity.

As scholars read different books, their knowledge and imagination on various subjects increases. These are all ways to help them become better scholars in school.  Reading also also improves their attention span.

Developing the habit of reading regularly from an early age helps scholars cope better with the rigors of academic education.

My 1st grade scholars would greatly benefit from the following grade level books: C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L and M leveled reading books. We don't have enough of these books to go around!

These sets would be and fantastic addition to our KEA 1st grade scholars:

1st Grade Classroom Library ($367.47)

1st Grade Leveled Reading Library ($367.47)

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase the appropriate amount of books with the funds received.

Example; If I receive $375, I will purchase $375 worth of reading leveled books for our 1st grade library.
