With these funds I will...purchase graphic novels for second language learners of the 10th grade. Graphic novels rely heavily on images to relay information, and this information can be used to initiate thinking, which can be turned into creative and detailed writing. Using images to stir productive thinking creates in students a desire to engage themselves in making all types of associations. This is particularly beneficial for English-language learners because it provides a pathway to communication that is limited by their lack of vocabulary.

Each book that I purchase are an estimate of $3 each. I will purchase a total of 66 books. These novels will assist with comprehensive skills and fluency. The students are second language learners therefore, reading books in English will assist the enhancement of gaining knowledge.
