ACT Review Books

The Description

With these funds I will...purchase 30-40 ACT review books so that my students can gain access to higher education. I teach 2 classes made up of approximately 90 juniors (total) who have completed their graduation exam. We (my co-teacher and I) are now breaking the classes into two groups based on college and career plans. Students will choose which group they want to be a part of. We expect 30-40 students to select the college prep track so the plan is to buy each student a book with the money raised. Review books cost $15 each.

Back Up Plan

If we do not reach our goal I will purchase... as many review books as possible at $15 a piece to help as many scholars as possible. I will either fund the remainder of the books myself or have students share/make copies.

About the Creator

I am excited to be a part of the TFA family and join the movement to solve education inequity in this country and provide all students with a quality education. I'm fortunate enough to be selected from a nationwide talent applicant pool to join a teacher corps comprised of leaders who commit a minimum of two years to teach in high need public schools. This summer I will be participating in an intensive skill and knowledge development program aiming to increase student achievement as well as a comprehensive professional development program including seminars, discussion groups, workshops, and content and professional learning communities specific to teaching license areas. I can't wait for my first year with Teach for America.
