With these funds I will purchase high interest teen novels starting with "Glass Sword", "Great Santini", and "Tyrell". In addition, I will purchase an eclectic mix of teen novels that will engage my students and encourage them to read more. Reading consistently is a key element in helping struggling readers transition into fluent, proficient readers. Given the opportunity to read books they love will keep them motivated and focused. I have so often heard, "Is there another book like this?" Or, "Is there another book in this series?" While the answer is yes it is but also no.  Our classroom libraries are small and often the books/series/author they want to continue with are checked out with a long waiting list in our school library.

Please help me start the dominos falling. When students read more they increase their lexile levels. This in turn helps them succeed on standardized tests, which are a requirement for graduation.  Please help my students graduate. Please start them on a bright future ONE BOOK AT A TIME.
