With these funds my school will be able to purchase equipment to make a multi-sensory room for all students at my school. Equipment for sensory rooms are very expensive, and can cost upwards of $40,000-$50,000. Eventually, we will need to raise more funds, but we want to start small and make a big impact. The Multi-Sensory room will be open to all special needs students, early childhood students, and students with behavioral needs in the school. The room will help to enhance students' communication, socialization, independence, sensory processing, decision making, relaxation or stimulation, and improved gross and fine motor skills. It will include equipment such as bubble tubes, special lighting, interactive wall panels, interactive projects, soft rocker chairs and padding.
