My Classroom Winter Fund

The Description

It is crazy that I have now spent almost a semester in the classroom. I have been fortunate to build relationships with my students, their families, and my school community at large. I have worked hard, but my students have worked harder. In the few short months we have been together, they have shown tremendous progress towards their academic and personal goals. This winter I want to be able to reward my students’ hard work and show them that there is a community that supports them both near and far.

With the funds that are raised, I will purchase an item for each of my students to highlight the success that they have had in the first semester. This will range from a book that they can read over winter break to a winter jacket to keep them warm. Your investment will go towards putting a smile on a student’s face this winter. Also, please consider spreading the word by sharing this with your friends and family on social media.

About the Creator

I am a second-year corps member excited work towards solving education inequity. My goal is to provide all students with a quality education. This past year I taught 95 sixth-graders in SE Washington, D.C. This coming year I am thrilled to be teaching first grade! This change of grade is very exciting but is also going to be challenging. Unfortunately, I do not have any supplies for my classroom and need help to create a warm and safe place for learning! Thank you in advance for your help.
