With these funds I will purchase class sets of 5th grade leveled books for the school year 2017-2018. Currently we do not have enough books for each child to have their own copy when in guided reading groups. It is beneficial for students to have their own books so that they can read at their own pace, work through words on their own, and to be able to take home to practice with their parents and return it to school. We could reach more students if we had full sets of leveled books. We are in need of books that interest the students. Some of our current books are twenty years old. Since our students read on various levels we will need to purchase numerous levels to reach all learners. We would like to start building our leveled library back up by purchasing six various leveled sets of books. Our levels would range from 4th grade to 6th grade with the goal of reaching all learners.
