The Description

With these funds we will...

Purchase school and office supplies for our well-deserving KIPP Empower scholars and staff.

These funds will help KIPP Empower Academy (KEA) obtain the necessary resources that scholars, teachers, and staff require to achieve academic success.

Support our teachers as they continue their mission to develop the character, knowledge, and skills of our KEA scholars so they will succeed in college and life, giving them the freedom to shape their futures and positively affect their communities.

Your donation will help KEA secure materials and keep our scholars inspired and passionate about achieving their goals in addition to helping staff plan, implement and monitor students' mastery of the content standards.

These funds will help promote cooperation, leadership, communication, and TEAM work!

This money will directly impact the KEA family by building more excitement within our school culture.

Ortensia Robledo, I'm the Office Associate at KIPP Empower Academy. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara in June of 2013, I began my wonderful journey with KEA. Although I'm a Bay Area native, I currently call Los Angeles my home. I love spending my free time learning how to cook new and bold dishes while also listening to cumbias.

Ana Alvarez, I am the Office Manager at KEA. I graduated from Cal State Dominguez Hills with an undergraduate degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. I then continued my work at National University where I earned a Master of Science degree in Educational Counseling with a PPS Credential. My work experience includes one year in the position of Special Education Clerk for Bethune Middle School and volunteer cheer coach. From there I went on to work for Cienega Elementary as a teacher assistant for 3 years and now working at KIPP Empower Academy. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Airazulema Alfaro, I am the School Business Operations Manager for KIPP Empower Academy. Prior to holding the SBOM role, I worked as KIPP Empower Academy’s Office Manager. Before joining the KIPP LA team in 2012, I spent 3 years working at New City Public Schools holding two roles: Office Manager and Family & Guidance Coordinator. During her time at NCPS, Airazulema provided professional development for the Operations Team and created an Operations Manual, which included all school and data systems. I graduated from Cal State Long Beach in 2012 obtaining a M.A. in Spanish Literature. I finished a B.A. in Spanish at the University of California, Riverside in 2008. My passion is empowering families to seek higher education for their children. In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking and traveling.
