With these funds I will... be able to provide our students busing to Camp Fitch. Camp Fitch is an educational team building experience for them. Camp Fitch teaches the students outdoor skills such as archery, horseback riding, obstacle courses, and cooperative learning survival skills. They also learn Indian folklore, Lake Erie history, and outdoor life. This firsthand experience will enrich the students’ background experiences and make texts more meaningful. I have had the experience of taking my past inner city schools to Camp Fitch and feel that it has given many students’ an experience that they would have never had otherwise. Youngstown Community School does not own busses, so we will need to rent bussing to transport the students to Camp Fitch. Bussing Cost $75/hr per bus. We will need 2 busses. Travel and loading time for both ways will be approximately 6.5 hrs/per bus.
