The Description
JOIN US IN CELEBRATING GREAT TEACHERS!
With these funds the Achievement Schools will purchase new shoes and an umbrella for each of the 10 teachers who volunteer to walk students home every afternoon after school at the four elementary schools in the Achievement School network: Whitney Achievement Elementary, Frayser Achievement Elementary, Corning Achievement Elementary and Georgian Hills Achievement Elementary.
The safety of our students is the primary reason these teachers volunteer for this work. Of course the teachers will tell you the relationships that are formed to discussed life in and out of the classroom makes this opportunity essential to serving the community well. This is a excellent way to love students and their families by helping deliver them home safely.
Purchased Supplies:
- Pair of new running shoes ($120) x 10
- Sturdy umbrella ($30) x 10
- 5% fee ($75)
- = $1,575 total

If I do not meet my goal we will purchase as many as possible with the available funds donated to make sure our teachers are equipped to serve the students each and every afternoon as they walk safely home.

Shoes Delivered Today!

I can't thank everyone enough for your contributions to this project. It was amazing to share new shoes with all of the teachers today! I was able to acquire a Brooks sponsorship to help offset the cost of providing some fancy running shoes - because our teachers deserve the best! Thank you so much for all of your kind donations to pull this off.
Also in case you missed it, our walking program spotlight received an amazing donation of beds from the Tempur-Pedic bed company - be sure to visit out Facebook Page to view the video! P.S. - If you're ever in need of a new bed we're big Tempur-Pedic fans, they were amazing to work with and so kind to support our families!
