A Makerspace of Our Own

The Description

With these funds I will stock our new Makerspace, where students can gather to create, invent, tinker, explore, and discover using a variety of tools and materials. Makerspaces are collaborative learning environments where students come together to share materials and learn new skills. This is a place where they can try new things, learn how things work, and even fail in a safe environment because we learn more from our failures than our successes. This program will be used by all of our students from grades Kindergarten through grade 5. Our goal is for students to have the opportunity to make robots, 3D printed items, jewelry, tools, and clothes, whatever takes their fancy. This program benefits the community and you because these students are the future workforce and hopefully one day in the near future they will be working for you.  We are looking to build an innovative space that will engage the students, but we need your help. Our students have limited access to "real" life experiences. The come from low income, rural homes.
