The Description

With these funds I will be able to purchase necessary items to obtain and track multiple students with life threatening medical conditions and make sure everybody on staff is educated on how they can personally assist in preventing potential emergencies.  Teachers need more resources and support when it comes to preventing emergencies in the classroom, on a field trip or any other school sponsored activities.

I am the only point of contact between 3 schools for over 1,800 students to track emergencies medications, emergency care plans, and screenings.  With these funds Ill be able to use technology to get information to teachers faster and be able to prepare and educate others more on how to keep students safe as well as protecting the privacy of our students. This directly impacts the students because if the child has a chronic medical condition that is life threatening, the teacher will have the resources and information that need to be prepared.  Having the pertinent information and tools available can save a child's life.

There are other items these funds will also assist us with from first aid items, thermometers, maintenance of our AED machines, and professional development for teachers (In-house CPR classes).  Pushing to have these items on campus and resources also direct my job personally on a daily basis when taking care of  students in the clinic.  Good health, pro-activeness and preparedness go hand in hand with a student's education to help them excel.  Having your help and support will assist me to go above and beyond to make this happen in servicing 3 schools on one campus.

Back Up Plan

If I do not meet my goal I will purchase continue to move forward to make priority to purchase first aid items items for the middle, high-school and athletics department since they do not have access to a clinic inside of their schools.   I believe that everybody would want to contribute if this is directly impacting their education and lives and daily lives.

Two bags Earned!!!!

November 9, 2015

With the amount of money raised at this point, we have enough to buy two personalized first aid bags!  The purpose of this bag will assist us in storing important documentation on high risk students as well as the storage of emergencies medications prescribed by doctor.  It will also have room for traveling first aid kit.

One thing I come across when checking out emergency medications to key essential staff members who are trained to give medications is that we need a way to safely store medications on field trips.  We have multiple field trips that happen in the spring (including camping trips/ out of town field trips).  It would be great to have at least 1 for each school.  This is a perfect example of how additional funds can help out!
