With these funds I will purchase special bookmarks that will encourage students to read and build stamina. The bookmarks have lights that students can use when reading independently. At KIPP Dream Prep, we are building students who love to Read, Baby, Read. Students can be found in classrooms across our campus digging into exciting reads from fiction to nonfiction. Teachers are encouraging students to read and students enjoy trips to our new school library and in classroom libraries.

This year is the first year our students have experienced a profound and deep love of reading with our teachers. Some of our students have read up to 500,000 words already this year. Students are reading in the hallways, during recess, and at home. Our students traditionally don't have access to public libraries on a frequent basis and we want to develop that love of reading as much a possible in school.

I would like to purchase  Mark My Time 3D Digital Bookmarks for students. I would also like to purchase t-shirts to incentive students who are striving and meeting goals, and regular printed bookmarks for students to mark their reading areas. Funds will also be used to purchase other materials to support teacher's libraries.
