With these funds I will...buy two Kindles for the classroom ($100/each). Imagine being told that the only way to get your reading level up is to READ, but when you get to class there are not many books.

I teach 11/12th grade at a very high poverty school. Many of my students will be the first in their family to graduate from high school and go to college. Unfortunately, we do not have many materials that are allotted to us. As their teacher, I am doing my best to get their reading level up so that they can pass the FCAT (a test they have to pass for graduation). Since the test is set on a 10th-grade reading level and my students are around 6th or 7th grade reading level, they are in need of books. The Kindle is going to open all kinds of doors for them and help their test scores by making them more comfortable when they start working on their reading level. I will also be able to offer more books for my students by getting E books.
