My Classroom Winter Fund

The Description

It is crazy that I have now spent almost a semester in the classroom. I have been fortunate to build relationships with my students, their families, and my school community at large. I have worked hard, but my students have worked harder. In the few short months we have been together, they have shown tremendous progress towards their academic and personal goals. This winter I want to be able to reward my students’ hard work and show them that there is a community that supports them both near and far.

With the funds that are raised, I will purchase an item for each of my students to highlight the success that they have had in the first semester. This will range from a book that they can read over winter break to a winter jacket to keep them warm. Your investment will go towards putting a smile on a student’s face this winter. Also, please consider spreading the word by sharing this with your friends and family on social media.

About the Creator

To Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers:

My name is Daniela Lopez, and I was a low-income, first-generation college graduate. I believe in education and its transformational power, as well as in the action of paying it forward, having been given great opportunity. I'll be in my first ever classroom this fall at a public school in Newark, serving a low-income community. I am also transitioning back to New Jersey myself, and would deeply appreciate any help in providing my kids with a beautiful, well - prepared classroom and the quality education they deserve. Any donation will be greatly appreciated, and will go to classroom supplies, decorations, and student materials.
