The Description
In my classroom, I am always stressing the importance of efficiency. Whether it is using test taking strategies, effective time management skills, or using context clues, we are always discussing ways to be more efficient students. Unfortunately, it is difficult to practice what I preach when it comes to grading assignments, quizzes, and tests. That is why I want to integrate GradeCam Go! into my classroom this year that way I can focus more time on creating amazing lessons and projects and less time on grading the mountains of paper that seem to pile up weekly.
GradeCam Go! creates grading sheets that can be printed out, laminated, or integrated into existing assignments that are automatically graded when scanned with a document camera, computer, or phone. This means that the quiz that use to take 20 minutes to grade by hand can now be done in under a minute. The best part is that the data is aggregated as I scan the sheets so I can see the questions that my students struggled with the most and clear up any misconceptions.

NCT Sharks need your help!

The educators at Nature Coast Technical High School would like to ask for your support in funding the continued implementation of an essential classroom tool. One of a teacher’s major headaches is the amount of grading required with a caseload of 120-200 students for each teacher. The Gradecam online grader and grading app for teachers has dramatically cut that time for teachers and has allowed us to give immediate and valuable instructional feedback to colleagues, administrators, students and parents. GradeCam empowers teachers to quickly and easily create, score and record assessments. We desperately need your help to keep this program available to educators at NCTHS.
Our present school budget does not allow for continued spending on this program. Almost 30 of our classroom teachers have already used Gradecam to grade almost 50,000 assessments! If each assessment took a teacher a minimum of 5 minutes to grade by hand, the grading time for those assessments would total over 4,000 hours! That’s 6 days of 24-hour grading for each participating teacher! We would like to encourage even more teachers to take advantage of this tool, but we’ve been hesitant to reach out to our teachers due to the lack of available funding for this school year.
Please consider helping us by making a donation towards the renewal of our Gradecam license. Individual teachers would each have to pay $150 of their own money in order to keep the service; that’s a total of $4500 for just today’s participating teachers. Our school license however would only cost $3600 and would allow for ANY teacher at NCTHS to use the program. NCT Teachers have already discussed sacrificing our own funds to keep this invaluable program, but we also know that we have several community partners that would be excited to support and provide a practical tool to help teachers in their daily grading responsibilities.
