With these funds I will provide 8th grade students with a  one-day opportunity to engage on the campus of Rice University in their Destination College program. This program is catered towards middle school students to empower, educate, and enlighten students on the process of the college admission process. Furthermore, this program will ensure students have the essential tools and knowledge to support them in their journey towards higher education. Students will attend various sessions that include, but are not limited to a panel on the significance of college, financial aid presentation, and an exploration of career opportunities. The program costs $35 per student to attend this one-day workshop and in an underserved community these costs can be waived with the assistance of donations and funding.
