The Description

We will use the funds to produce our annual Hispanic Heritage Festival.  KIPP Liberation hosts an event for the community that is informative, engaging and interactive.  Our event aims to celebrate and inform the community how rich and diverse Hispanic culture is. It is an opportunity for students to demostrate pride and teach peers in a manner that will have a life long lasting impact.

We will do this by hosting a Cultural Museum featuring student artworks, Hispanic Arts & Crafts Centers where families can create, perfromances presented by our Theatre Department and performances by Folklorico dancers.

In my Art class and Art Club we will study artists from South America to Spain.  The student artists will study Brazilian artists Beatriz Milhazes & Romero Britto, Dia de los Muertos, Mexican artists Frida Khalo, Diego Rivera, Salvador Diaz, & Andrea Arroyo, and Spanish artists Pablo Picasso & Jose Manuel Merello.  Students will use a variety of media to create artworks and learn about the art making process.  Students will also learn age appropriate Art History, Geography and will be able to speak with confidence about their pieces.

We will need funds to ensure that we will have a successful event.

Many thanks for donating!
