Flexible Seating for STEAM Engineers

The Description

Making is a powerful trend in education, where students explore new concepts, bring ideas to life, and apply their talents in new and exciting ways. I would like the students in our school to have these experiences, and I need your help to create a makerspace and purchase the learning resources.

A makerspace is a mash-up of different spaces—the science lab, home economics room, art room, wood shop and tech lab. Our makerspace, from Demco, will be a place where students get hands-on experience with robotics and coding, learn the principles of design and engineering, circuitry and electricity, and develop unique solutions to tackle real-world problems. Through these experiences, our students will be honing skills their future employers are seeking - collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.

I thank you in advance for helping create our makerspace and bring this new and exciting opportunity to life in our school! You can see the breakdown in our fundraising page below.

Here is the breakdown of our goal of $2,061.86 for Demco

Demco $1,000 Gift Card (x2)$2,000.00
Stripe payment processing fee$61.86
Total goal amount$2,061.86

Back Up Plan

If we do not reach our goal I will purchase...

Depending on how much money is raised, we will purchase only one of the items that we have picked out, either the STEAM Project Table or the Organizing Cart. If there is not enough money for one of these items then we will purchase small STEAM supply kits.

About the Creator

My name is Patrick Pricer, I have been an educator for 8 years now. I spent 10 years in the construction trades before becoming an educator. Science of all disciplines is my passion. I have taught every grade level science Pre-K through 8th grade. I believe that all students have something that they can succeed at. For that reason I try to incorporate all sciences into my teaching as much as possible. Robotics, engineering, horticulture, biology, we have pushed our students to experience as much as they can.
