With these funds at KAI, we will be able to build a differentiated scientific literacy experience for all students! Using BirdBrainScience.com we will be able to provide topical science texts to students at their current reading level. This not only allows us to help our lower readers unlock the world of science through literacy, but also helps us challenge our students who can read at higher levels.

KIPP Academy of Innovation works in the historically underserved community of East Los Angeles, a place that has seen progress in recent years, though where students still struggle to make it to and through college. As a STEAM charter school (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), we hope to shape our Innovators into the leaders and pioneers of the 21st century. We understand that scientific literacy is an essential part of a modern student's education, and for this reason we hope to provide our students with the best opportunity to build a lasting foundation in scientific concepts through literature.

With the money raised, we will buy 150 student licenses to BirdBrainScience.com to accommodate all students taking part in 6th grade science this year. With the successful unrolling of this technology, we hope to sustainably budget this resource in future years.
