The Description

The goal of this grant is to enhance student learning by incorporating engineering and design with science and math in our Makerspace. A Makerspace is a collaborative space where the students will come together to design, create and build items of their own creation through inquiry-based learning. Glowforge has the impact in student learning by encouraging them to use collaborative ideas to solve problems, creativity to design their project, and learn how technology is used to enhance our world.

To accomplish this, I would like to purchase a Glowforge 3D printer for our classroom. This would supplement the technology we currently use. There are 4 fifth grade classrooms with a projected class size of 27 in each class for a total of 100 - 110 students and will enable them to work collaboratively.

Back Up Plan

If I do not reach my goal I will purchase items to create other learning intervention and supplement centers.
